Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves To Plant Placenta In Orchard

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves kept the placenta after the birth of his son Levi and plan to plant it in an orchard hoping it will fertilize the land, a longtime ritual followed in several cultures.

"It's going to be in the orchards and it's going to bear some wonderful fruit," he says, according to an interview transcript. "When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river ... and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength. This tree was just growing taller and stronger above the rest of Mother Nature around it. It was gorgeous."

Matt and Camila haven't let Levi slow them down - they bring their 1-month-old son with them wherever they go -he's already been to a John Mellencamp concert.

"You're never told in our house, 'Shh, Levi is sleeping.' No. Get used to the ambiance. Come with us. That's how I was raised,"

We brought our daugther Kairi with us everywhere, but I think bringing a 1 month old infant to a concert is insanely selfish. Cant wait to hear the headlines about his ear damage.

Secondly, infants are take alongs for a while, but eventually they start building fears. My daugther was brought home to a house with 6 people, 5 dogs, 3 cats. Not to mention all the noise from the tractors and such going on outside, as it was a farm with extensive acreage. With her growing with all of this noise, she STILL developed the normal fears to loud sounds and such as she hit her middle months and of strangers. I sincerely hope that they dont force their child into frightening situations for their own selfish entertainment.

I just think it is so funny that no one has commented about this placenta planting. Nothing from their bunch surprises us anymore!

Different cultures different ways. Planting placenta is quite common actually, just not in western countries.
And taking baby to consert I bet they had something to protect his hearing. They make these things that construction men use while using loud machines (I don't know what they are called, sorry, english in not my own lanquage) for babies too.
