Jolie-Pitt Foundation Opens Clinic in Zahara's name

The Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which was formed by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2006, has made a $2 million donation to the Global Health Committee to establish a center to aid children affected by HIV/ADS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia.

The branch, to be named after their 3-year-old Ethiopian daughter Zahara Marley, will be modeled after the Maddox Chivan Children's Center in Cambodia. The center in Cambodia provides medical, education and social servies to impoverished Cambodian children.

"It is our hope when Zahara is older she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission," Pitt said in a statement.

"Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease," Jolie said in a statement.
