Emma Bunton Considers Adoption

Dec 10, 2006 by LISA WEBER

EmmabuntonEmma Bunton, a formal Spice Girl is considering adoption if she can't have children of her own.

Bunton wants to start a family with her long-term boyfriend Jade Jones but is worried she won't be able to conceive because of medical problems.

She has endometriosis a condition which causes the lining of the uterus to come away and makes it difficult to become pregnant.

She said:  "I'd like to have a baby soon. Maybe in the next few years. I get broody. My endometriosis is still a worry. But I've learned from people around me to be positive. Of the people I know with it, 90 per cent have gone on to have children.

"Obviously I'd like to try for my own first. But I would be open to adoption."

Please allow me to post a small correction: Endometriosis is not a condition "which causes the lining of the uterus to come away".

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus is found outside of the womb, mainly in the pelvis (but it can be found anywhere in the body). It appears as lesions, cysts and adhesions, which induce a chronic inflammation. The most common symptom of endometriosis is pain (with menstruation, ovulation, and/or intercourse), and it can cause infertility as well.

I hope you are able to post this correction?

Many thanks!
