Home Birth For Charlotte Church: It’s A Girl!

ChurchCharlotte Church, 21, gave birth to a baby girl at home who weighed just over 6 pounds. A spokesperson for Church said: “A baby girl was born sometime on Thursday evening or possibly Friday morning. Midwives were present at the home birth.”

Church lives in England Wales with rugby player boyfriend Gavin Henson, 25, who was at Charlotte’s side for the birth.

I know some of you have shared home birth stories here before, but if anyone reading has had a home birth, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks Natalie!

Not that I am one to gripe but being welsh myself I couldn’t help but notice that you had Charlotte church as living in England…She actually lives, and is from Wales…saying that she is from England would be like saying America was in Canada…us welshies take a little offence at being called English.keep up the good work though xxx

i had a home birth here in oregon. i had a waterbirth – my baby was born in a birthing tub in our bedroom. when the baby was born we climbed out of the tub and into bed for the next 2 weeks. no drugs used. i feel all low-risk births should happen this way! pregnancy is not an illness its a rite of passage – and completely SAFE!

I had a home birth with my third child (after two pitocin-driven but drug-free hospital births.) To say that it was an incredible experience is an understatement. I only had thirteen minutes of hard labor so my midwife didn’t make it to my house in time. In fact, my husband didn’t even witness the birth. He didn’t believe me when I said that the baby was coming NOW — he was in the closet getting dressed when she fell out of me. He came running out when he heard me say, “Oh my God! It’s a GIRL!” I really enjoyed curling up in my own bed and nursing my baby without any interruptions from nurses at all hours of the day and night. My husband loved being able to sleep in our bed instead of the chair-bed in the hospital. There were numerous other reasons why a home birth was so much better for me. I highly recommend it!
