Christina Bares It All In Marie Claire

Christina Bares It All In Marie Claire

Christina Aguilera bares it all in the January issue of Marie Claire magazine. Here are some highlights from the interview:

On trying for a baby

“We were planning on starting to try after the [Nov. 2006-May 2007 Back to Basics] tour. And so, I had gone off the Pill to prepare my body, because I didn’t know how much time it would take. You’ve heard it takes some time – except with Power Egg and Super Sperm here,” she reveals, “I’m like, Oh, my God, can you believe it just happened?” Xtina believes it happened when her husband Jordan Bratman visited Georgetown during her tour.

How she was able to perform while pregnant

Aguilera has been know to wear huge heels onstage, as well as hanging from a circus pinwheel. “I was paranoid, there are so many things that could go wrong – somebody could slip, somebody could fall, I could fall. There was no way in hell I was going to jeopardize my baby for my show.” She wore a hidden heart monitor. “I didn’t want to make the audience uncomfortable, like, ‘Pregnant lady onstage! Is she going to be okay?’ But I had to announce it to my band and my dancers, because I wanted to make sure they had my back.”

More after the jump!

On keeping her pregnancy to herself

“Because I hadn’t said anything, people thought I was trying to keep it this big, bad secret, and that’s not the case at all. I just wasn’t commenting. I’m not being like, ‘Hey, everybody, I’m pregnant!’ I’m not that girl.”

On sexuality

“We’re so labeled. If you’re too sexual, you’re slutty. If you’re not sexual enough, you’re a prude. I like to put it out there as a topic of conversation. Why does it bother you? What’s your problem with it? Am I really hurting you? Let’s get to the root of it.”

“I have more than one side of me that likes to get out on a stage and sing. Sometimes I want to be aggressive, sometimes I want to feel empowered in my sexuality and my vulnerability. I want to put all that out there.”

I’d kill to see the untouched photos. I would find it hard to believe she’s that toned and pregnant. I was a cellulite factory with my pregnancy!

What is with celebrities posing naked while pregnant? Are they still trying to show the world that they can be sexy? Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, but I think she could’ve gone classier.
Demi Moore’s pregnancy pic was classy.

I don’t think it’s right to pose naked while pregnant. It’s too personal, after all.

I think she looks beautiful and it’s refreshing to see women who are proud of their bodies while pregnant.
Her photos are not “sexual” nor do I think that was her intention at all.
I’m currently pregnant atm, and think I’m due around the same time as she is. I wish I looked half as good as she does right now, photoshopped or not lol
It’s obvious in other photos that have been taken of her that she is still in very good shape, the only thing they probably photoshopped out was stretch marks, which not all pregnant women get.

side note: Her pregnancy pictures are still way better than Britney’s….

I think these types of photos are completely classless and tacky. I do not think pregnant women are offensive or ugly (I have been one myself!), I just think that if there is ever a time in your life in which to be modest, during pregnancy is it! I don’t like Christina Aguilera’s style ever, really, I just think during pregnancy she showed way too much skin (namely her chest!) and it was just a bit much.

I think she looks great. I regret not taking one myself, when I was pregnant. And even if she had stretch marks and cellulite she would still look great, because she is a mom. And bumps should not be hidden. We are carrying the most precious thing in life – a child. Way to go Christina!
