Forbes: ‘The Most Expensive Celebrity Baby Photos’

More than ever before, tabloids and blogs are paying top dollars for those first photos of celebrity babies. Forbes.com compiled a list of the most expensive celebrity baby photos over the last decade – and they didn’t look at photos that sold for less than $500,000. For a slideshow of those babies click here.

1) Max & Emme (celeb parents: Jenifer Lopez and Marc Anthony) People magazine March 2008 $6 million

2) Shiloh Nouvel Joilie-Pitt (celeb parents: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt) People magazine June 2006 $4.1 million – donated the funds to African charity.

3) TIE–Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt (celeb parents: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt) People magazine March 2007 $2 million

4) TIE–Dannielynn Hope Birkhead (celeb parents: Anna Nicole Smith and Larry Birkhead) OK! Magazine April 2007 $2 million

5) Max Bratman (celeb parents: Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman) People magazine February 2008 $1 million

6) Harlow Winter Kate Madden (celeb parents: Nicole Richie and Joel Madden) People magazine February 2008 $1 million

7) Kingston Rossdale (celeb parents: Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale) OK! Magazine June 2006 $575k

8 ) Sean Preston Federline (celeb parents: Britney Spears and Kevin Federline) People magazine November 2005 $500k

Insiders say if Angelina is really expecting twins she could receive as much as $10 million for the exclusive.

We love seeing these adorable babies, but are the pictures worth the big price tag?

OK! editor Rob Shuter thinks so,

“But anybody that looks at it as just a one-week phenomenon has missed the real point,” Shuter explains. “It’s branding. It’s publicity. It’s marketing.” For a magazine, an exclusive set of A-list baby pics generates a tremendous amount of buzz, from blog write-ups to talk show segments to newspaper headlines.

Well, technically, Shiloh is still the most expensive baby, since Max & Emme are twins, it’s “”"”just”"”" $3M each… right ?

If those idiot magazines want to pay it–then let them. At least Angelina and Brad donated the money. I think that is awesome.

HOW MANY COPIES DID JLO’S SELL 6 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH..
IF ANGIE AND BRAD PITT PUT THEIR BABIES ON THE PUBLICITY
MARKET AGAIN .. THEY WOULD BE FOOLS.. 4 MILLION DOLLARS MORE FOR ANGIE’S BABIES..WOW WHAT NEXT?

ANGIE SHOULD JUST DO WHAT HALLE BERRY IS DOING STAY OUT OF THE LIME LIGHT AND ENJOY HER NEW BUNDLE OF JOY .. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER BABIES.. ASHLEY, BEYONCE, ETC..

If anyone is going to make money off of their baby pics, it might as well be them. At least Brangelina donates all of the money they make to charities, unless Jello and Marc Anthony. If they don’t sell the photos rights then paparazzi will harass them even more to get the first shots. First shots would be worth millions to them. I like that Brad and Angelina aren’t thinking of themselves when they sell the pics, especially when the money goes to those in need. I hope Brangelina are having twins. so cute!

As much as I love seeing baby celebs but this “baby pimping scenario” is getting way out of hand (thus I never buy those idiot magazines). Plus they are newborns so personally they all look the same. I rather see them when they are a little bigger with more character on their faces.

    I agree with you, Dea.
And earning money on showing your kids to the world (as if they will never be shown to people again) isn’t the respect-deserving thing. That makes me have respect for Brad and Angelina. As for others, that’s just sh*t.

I think there’s a HUGE difference between selling pix and donating the proceeds to charity and the “baby pimping” that wanna-be celebs like Larry Birkhead do…
