Tina Hobley Introduces Daughter Olivia

British actress Tina Hobley and her husband Oliver Wheeler introduced their 5-week-old daughter Olivia Kitty Alice in this week’s Hello! Magazine. Olivia was born on April 18th at London’s private Portland Hospital and weighed in at 7lb 3oz. The Portland is a favorite with British stars such as Victoria Beckham, Katie Price and Melanie Brown. The Holby City star has a 9-year-old daughter Isabella (Bella) from her first marriage to Steve Wallington.

The interview and more pictures after the jump

On the birth: “We had John Lennon’s Working Class Hero playing in the background and everyone was relaxed. She appeared within five minutes and they pulled the screen down so I could see the whole thing.” She added: “I didn’t question having a Caesarean this time, because my last labour with Isabella was so traumatic. My doctor advised me to go for an elective Caesarean because it could happen again.”

On having Olivia in a private hospital: “Having a baby is such a special time of your life that you want the comfort and support that many general hospitals are unable to provide anymore.”

On more children: “No plans: I always imagined having two children, so this is perfect. I am not bothered that we don’t have a boy.”

On husband Oliver as a new dad: “He is very rational and very easygoing, even in the middle of the night. But I knew he would be fantastic because he is so wonderful with Bella. They have a wonderful bond. I couldn’t have wished for a better father to my children.”

On how Bella felt with the new arrival: “She is quite open about feeling a little jealous now that Olivia is here, but we are making a special effort so that she doesn’t feel left out. The three of us were so tight as a team and gave her so much time, but we will get there eventually.”

On having help: “I am thinking about having a maternity nurse when Olivia is about six weeks and I go back to work. I also have someone living in to help with the housework and the baby. I decided not to breastfeed because I am going back to work so quickly and didn’t want the problem of her not adjusting to the bottle.”

On being a working mum: “I enjoy being a mother more because I am a working mother. With Bella I enjoyed my time more with her because it was pure quality time. There came guilt with that but I think I have dealt with that now. I actually feel happier than ever because I feel I am where I want to be.”
