Hollywood BFF’s, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck dine out with their wives, Luciana Barroso and Jennifer Garner, on Saturday night at Nobu Malibu. Luciana is expecting the couples’ second baby in late summer. I love that Ben was wearing the same shirt earlier that day - he seems so ‘real.’ (Matt’s outfit is uber casual too)

You don’t need the apostrophe in the couples’ names. They’re not possessive, they’re nominative. And even if they were possessive, the correct form for a plural noun like “The Damons” would be “The Damons’ ” or “The Damons’s.” yes, it looks silly, but that’s grammar for you.
Pencils – it gets really confusing when the last name has an ‘s’ at the end for me!

I mean, not to sound rude or something, but what matters is the story/photos, right ? This is a blog about babies/kids, not grammar. We’re not perfect, but we have fun
I care. Without grammar, English becomes gibberish, and we won’t understand the stories. This is a professional website, not someone’s personal blog–I would never post something like that on a personal blog, or about someone’s comments, as we all make mistakes while typing. But where does it end? Is it OK if the New York Times decides they don’t care about grammar anymore? If this is a professional website, they should have professional standards. Would you be OK with it if their coding wasn’t up to a professional standard and the ads wandered across the page? I doubt it.
(In case you couldn’t guess, I’m an editor, although I work in print publishing.)
