Natasha Hamilton Suffers Miscarriage

“It’s a devastating blow. I’ve just spent this year trying to pick myself up. I was only in the early stages, about seven weeks. Of course, as soon as you find out you’re pregnant, you start to build a picture in your head. I know you’re not supposed to but you think of your future with that baby, and when that doesn’t happen it’s very hard to deal with.”

How she’s recovering,

“I think it’s something that’s always going to stay with you but it makes your realise how precious life is. I look at my boys and I thank my lucky stars for them. Riad was really sad, but he was being strong for me. In our relationship we don’t hide emotions. If we wanted to cry, we’d cry together and we wouldn‘t be hung up about it. So we still talk about it. You can’t just brush something like that under the carpet because if you do, it will tear you apart. That’s one of the things you learn as you grow older, not to bottle things up or they get worse. We are going to try again, maybe next year. But if it happens we’ll be keeping things under wraps for a while, just in case.”

Good for her for speaking out about this. I too suffered a miscarriage earlier this year at 12 weeks along. It was a horrific experience, especially after having the “perfect” pregnancy the first time around. It really does change something in you forever…

It’s great that she is willing to open up about this sensitive subject. I too suffered one when I was 7 weeks pregnant but the difference is I didnt know I was pregnant til it happened. She is right about talking it out, put in on the table because no matter what, there is always “a little sadness/question why” in your life.

I really feel for her. I’m 18 weeks along with my second child and worry every day. I too suffered one at 7 weeks. It was very upsetting. I wish them well in the future.
