Madonna: “I See Myself In My Daughter”

She and husband Guy Ritchie recently announced they were divorcing after almost eight years.

Juggling a career and motherhood,

“If I think, oh I have to do a show tonight, first I have to take care of my kids, make the coffee, do my yoga practice and make sure everything is running smoothly in my house, and then I do that job. It’s all part of everyday life. I don’t separate one from the other.”

Seeing herself in her children,

“Yes, definitely. I see myself in my daughter a lot. [Laughs] Oh yes. She’s a bit of an exhibitionist, she loves to perform and dress up. She’s a ballet dancer, she’s obsessed with dancing and I was too when I was little. It’s just funny that’s what she’s interested in. When I was a little girl I wanted to be a ballerina too. I think it’s just in her molecular structure. She’s very dramatic and very expressive and I see myself in her a lot.”

Rocco being a mini-me of dad Guy Ritchie,

“[Smiles fondly] Yes, they are. He’s a very funny clown. He’s got an incredible sense of humour.”

I felt sorry for her daughter form the moment Madonna said she was pregnant! I hope Ritchie gets custody.

I understand they are going through a difficult divorce but they need to act mature and be selfless for the sake of their kids. All these nonsense, bashing each other in public isnt going to solve anything.

Sherry, why would Guy get custody of a child that isn’t even his? Why did you feel sorry for her? At least she isn’t getting paid to flaunt her children on a magazine cover. If someone sees the kids then thats that, if you don’t, time doesn’t stop for anyone and no one gets hurt. You don’t see her kids crying and covering their face like poor little Suri. She’s not a perfect mother, no mother is perfect, and she shouldn’t have to prove anything to you or anyone else.

This comment comes a little late, but people, don’t believe everything you read. These two people (M and G) are not saying nasty things about each other in public, the press is making it all up. They have waited for their divorce ever since they got married. Theyre civilized people and wouldn’t go this low, believe me.

And those kids are very lucky, Sherry, for one, you have no idea what you’re talking about because Guy Ritchie is not the father of Lourdes. And second, you don’t live with them and therefore don’t know how happy they are (they are, though.) She’s a good mother and I’d rather see her having the custody of her kids than for example someone like Britney spears getting the custody of her kids. I don’t see anything Madonna is doing wrong, she’s a good mom and everyone should give her a little, if not, a LOT more credit. She deserves it.

Also, not liking Madonna the artist or how the media portrays her doesn’t mean you have to say she’s not allowed to take care of her kids, that’s very childish of you to say. It’s superficial and very, very stupid.
