Lemar: "Having A Child Puts A Different Perspective On Things"

He said, "So many people said to me, 'Having a child is going to be great, nothing compares to it', and it got to the point where I thought, 'Oh God, this is going to be such an anticlimax'. But, you know, it wasn't. It's been the best thing ever. It really has changed the way I think. Having a child puts a different perspective on things. Money really matters to me now in a different way. Before it was just there - now it's, 'Well, maybe I could do something with that that will help my daughter.'"

He also added how, even though she's still young, she's determined to prove herself, "She's still very little, but she's always trying to show she can stand, take a few steps, that she can talk. She just goes for it no matter how many times you say no".

Lemar's new album The Reason is due for release in the UK this week.
