John Travolta Wants Ella To Have A "Fruitful Career"

John Travolta is taking on his first leading role in an animated feature in Disney's Bolt, playing a dog who believes he has superpowers. The 54-year-old father of two (16-year-old Jett and 8-year-old Ella) got to sing and dance again, this time with co-star Miley Cyrus, in the music video for the movie. John sat down with Parade magazine and discussed how his children were impressed with his movie choice this time around.

On his popularity at home as a result of working with Miley Cyrus: "I was so popular when I got home after they had gotten the news that I sang with Miley. Doing a movie with her was big enough news. But the singing and dancing with her was a whole other thing. So I'm finally getting some attention from my kids."

On keeping things all in the family with his next film, Old Dogs: "Absolutely. My daughter, Ella, and my wife, Kelly, both have roles. I'm so excited about my little Ella Blue making her debut as an actress. I want to see her have a fruitful career and I really think it's time to introduce her, sort of like Will Smith introduced his son. I think this is the right thing for Ella, and Kelly thought it was smart, too. Actually it was after Kelly read the script that she wanted to be in it too. She plays Robin Williams' wife. She said, 'I'll wink at you from a distance or something.'"

and what about his son? Poor kid.

It's also kind of creepy that he's predicting/setting up his daughter's career and she's only 8.

Funny he never mentions his son. Is he ashamed of him because he is autistic?

Is his son autistic? I'd heard that but I thought they were just rumors.

I doubt that he's ashamed of his son. My guess is that he doesn't want to deal with 'all that' publicly. We all know what the paparazzi and the media are like! Sometimes they just don't realize (or care) when they're overstepping their bounds. He probably just wants to protect his son from having to go through these extra stresses.
