Brad Pitt: "Surprisingly, Six Kids Is Not As Easy As You Would Think.”

Brad Pitt went on the Today Show to talk about his new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, out this month, his Make It Right Project, the W Magazine photoshoot with partner Angelina Jolie, and the rest of his family -- which includes Maddox, 7, Pax, who just turned 5, Zahara, 4 next month, Shiloh, 2 1/2, and 4 1/2-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

On how he feels about his family: "I'm really proud of this family. I look at my sons and my daughters. One's from Vietnam. One's from Cambodia. One's from Ethiopia. And there's this kid that was born in Namibia. And they're brothers and sisters, man. And they are fighting and they are laughing and going into hysterics and staying up late and they are messing with their parents and they're driving me crazy. I feel rich. It's a rich home. Each one offers so much to the mix. Surprisingly, six kids is not as easy as you would think."

Brad on how he feels about the paparazzi: "Let me be very blunt. I hate 'em. I hate these people. I don't understand what they do there for a living. We need to make a distinction between people who photograph celebrities at events and people who climb over your wall wearing camouflage and calling out your kids names as you take them to school so they'll look that way. I have no respect for these people. I do no like them. I don't understand how they can live their lives that way. There should be laws against it. They should not be able to follow kids like this. But there's not right now, so that's the way it is."

On if he and Angelina will get married (she recently told a reporter to ask Brad): "She set me up, didn't she. If we feel it's important to our kids we'll do so."

On why he's more reluctant to talk about his family than Angelina is: “It just gets cheapened somehow, as it goes through the filters in the airwaves. And some things you just want to keep close to the chest. There's no way to give it true validity and weight of what it means to you in your life. It seems to get cheapened somehow as it goes through the filters and the airwaves.”

When Ann spoke about people who were considering adoption, but were afraid they wouldn't be able to love an adopted child as much as a biological one, Brad shared that he had been concerned, too, originally - but that there's really no reason to worry about that at all: "It's automatic. It's automatic."

On the W magazine pictures: “They capture a side of Angie that’s so warm and big that you rarely see.”

He also spoke about his Make It Right Project; the project has reached its goal of 150 promised houses - each designed to be environmentally friendly and, perhaps most importantly, to rise above any future flood waters - with eighty currently under construction in the Lower 9th Ward: “Now you see it. There’s actually families here who are home for the holidays. And it's really, really cool. This time next year, you're going to see 100 homes here. And not only that ... these homes, what you don't see is the way they work. It’s a sunny day. Those meters are running backward. They are off the grid. This is the road to affordable housing that you see right here. What I see is what I was talking about — quality of life. I see the upbringing they're going to have there, the experiences and memories they're going to make in this place. And it's a good start, and it's a fair start. That's what I like about it.”

The interview was conducted yesterday in New Orleans, and Today plans to air the rest later this month. In addition, when Brad and Angelina attended the Button screening last night - the movie is described as a "love letter to New Orleans", they both spoke about why they loved New Orleans.

AJ: "Our kids love it here and they love it when we get to stay here for long periods of time. They love the schools; they love the other kids, the other parents. It's just...it's hard to explain. We just felt at home."

BP: "I love it that my kids and my family can move around the city and enjoy a sense of normalcy,"
