Pete Wentz On Bronx Discovering The World

Dec 11, 2008 by NICOLE

New dad Pete Wentz was very happy to gush about new baby Bronx to People magazine - specifically, how everything is endlessly fascinating for his almost 3-week-old son.

"Every time I see my son, it looks like he's landing on the moon and discovering new rocks and stuff," he told PEOPLE Tuesday night at the debut of his art exhibition, a collaboration with good pal Travis McCoy entitled Without You I'm Not Me. "I mean, every time he looks at his hand, it's like he's Christopher Columbus making it across the ocean. It's pretty awesome."

When asked if he had created any artwork to hang near his son's bed, Pete answered he hasn't, because he feels it's not "appropriate for the nursery."

"I'm not the kind of person that's going to push something on my kid. If he decides to go, 'Hey dad, why don't you draw this for me or play this for me,' that would be cool."

McCoy, the Gym Class Heroes frontman, has been named Bronx's godfather – and he's already started spoiling the newborn. "I got him his first pair of Jordans," he said. "That's just the beginning! I'm amazing with the kid," McCoy bragged, adding that he and girlfriend Katy Perry (of "I Kissed a Girl" fame) are already suffering from baby fever.

"When I passed Bronx off to her, we both looked at each other," he said, recalling a recent visit. "Any young couple in love around another young couple in love, it's inevitable that you're going to get that spirit."
