Hi Nicola, Congratulations on your first child. As you can see we have the same surname although proberbly not related. The reason I'm writing is to let you know about a fantastic event being held in June. One of your name sakes Cpl Ted Tappenden was part of the Coup de Main force that spearheaded the D-Day invasion back in 1944. Being his younger son I thought it would be nice to remember him and his "mates" by celebrating the 65th Anniversary of D-Day by running a mile for each year, 65 miles, from Tarrant Rushton, Dorset were they took off in gliders to Pegasus Bridge in France. Because we are raising money for a memorial to the Coup de Main we are also raising money to support the servicemen and women who have suffered such horrendous injuries whilst serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I'm only informing you because you have the same surname as mine and being ex military myself I know how much it means to the men away on very dangerous missions to have a beautiful lady who supports them.
Good luck to you, simon and Poppy.
