Best & Worst Baby Names of 2008

Let's face it: it seems like part of being a celebrity these days is giving your child an unusual name. Some are just exotic, but some are downright baffling, and Babynames.com surveyed 5,000 visitors to find out how they felt about the names celebrities gave their babies this year - the names they loved, the names they hated, and even which set of twin names they liked best!

Bronx Mowgli Wentz took the crown for worst baby boy name, while Soleil Moon Frye's daughter Jagger Joseph Blue Goldberg was deemed the worst for the girls.

However, not all unusual names are bad. For instance, Harlow Winter Kate received praise because it's "a glamorous name, without being too unusual."

Below is the rest of the list. Voters were given 72 celebrity baby names to choose from. How does your own list match up? Which names do you love, and which do you just love to hate?

Zuma Rossdale (Gwen's baby) is the worst name I have heard - terrible!

I don't understand how Zuma doesn't make the worst boy's name. But I don't think Jagger is all that bad at all.

Jagger Joseph for a girl?? I think not lol.

Apple is the WORST!

The best celeb baby names of the year, in my book were Harper, Harlow and Nahla for girls. For the boys: Levi, River and Sawyer. I absolutely hated Jagger Joseph blue for a girl and Zuma Nesta Rock for a boy. I like unique names with a happy sound. I strongly dislike the old, overused, worn out names like Henry or Archie or Mabel. Maddie is a terrible name for a girl as well, it sounds as if she is going to be angry the rest of her life: "Maddie the Baddie."

I'm surprise that no one mention Ignatius for worst boy name.

What's wrong with Luisa? It's a Spanish name, but normal. Same thing with Vincenzo, it's Italian. I've always loved the name Atalanta--it's not from the city in Georgia, it's from Greek mythology. I don't like the name Harlow, and I feel bad for poor Harlow Madden when the kids start calling her "harlot" in middle school. Kids are cruel, and that one is so easy. And I'm annoyed with Ashlee Simpson and her husband for ruining the joke about how that since kids are now being named Brooklyn the only thing left to be different is to name you child "Bronx!"

I loved the name Samuel Kai.

Oh.. I like Coco..

What is wrong with Jagger Joseph? It's unique, I like it. What should've made the list was Pilot Inspektor- I know he isn't a baby, and I'm all for really unique names (I have one myself), but Pilot Inspektor? Blecch, that's one I actually really disliked. Don't really like Major either.

I like Luisa. Is a very common name in my country.

Alisa said:

how is luisa a bad name? i've always loved that name, but prefer the spelling with an 'o' (Louisa). And how is "Finley and Harper" better than "Rex and Juno"?

But one i cant believe everyone likes is Honor. To me, it's not a very pretty or sweet sounding girl name.

Im sad that Sunday Rose didn't get a mention... i thought of all the unique names celebrities name their children, Sunday is the most unique, and the most pleasing sounding girl name. It's very beautiful.

And how didn't Zuma get on the worst names list?

For an article that seems to be about names, you think they would get the names of the parents right. It's Jemaine Clement...not JeRmaine

Well, i have a cousin named Jaggar and I like it, there is nothing wrong with that name, however, Bronx Mowgli is a very unique, strange name, but the baby is really cute.
