Update: Jett Travolta Has Passed Away

Update: According to a family friend, the autopsy performed today on 16-year-old son Jett Travolta revealed his death was caused by a “seizure disorder,” PEOPLE reports. TMZ adds “[The funeral home says] the body was in great condition and shows no sign of head trauma,” despite police and family who say the boy hit his head either on the toilet seat, bathtub or both.

Jett’s body has already been released back to his parents.

Update: TMZ is reporting that Jett was last seen going into the bathroom at their private suite at the Old Bahama Bay Resort sometime yesterday. His body was discovered at 10:00 AM today by the caretaker. A police spokeswoman said Jett “hit his head in a bathtub.” An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.

According to attorney Micheal Ossi, John Travolta’s 16-year-old son Jett passed away suddenly today whilst on vacation in the Bahamas with his family.

“At this point, we know that John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s only son, Jett, had a seizure at around 10 a.m. this morning,” attorney Michael Ossi said. “All attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.”

Jett suffered a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. Jett, who had a history of seizures, was diagnosed with Kawasaki Syndrome – which can cause heart disease – at 15 months old.

Jett’s death “was completely out of the blue,” Ossi said. “John and Kelly are happy when their children are happy. This is the worst day of John’s life.”

John has spoken rarely about Jett, preferring instead to remain private and protective of his son, but he did call Jett “my baby” in an interview with the Australian media several years ago.

“He’s my first, and he’s my heart. And he’s a very special boy,” Travolta said. “He’s Daddy’s boy. And…we spend a lot of time together even though I’m pretty busy. He loves the outdoors and he loves to travel. He loves being on the plane. We fly in the ultralight together,” he continued. “And…he likes to climb trees and swim.”

John and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, also have a daughter, Ella Blue, 8.

This is horribly sad and my heart aches for any parent who loses a child.

I assume more controversy will surround his death…considering his parents are scientologists…who have reservations about medication…and Jeff was possibly autistic…etc.

    Bless all of their hearts.

This is so very sad. I remember John being on Oprah when Jett was little, around 3 or 4. She flashed a big photo of Jett and John proudly and lovingly exclaimed “That’s my baby!”
