Lourdes Leon Is Taking Acting Lessons

Twelve-year-old Lourdes Leon is preparing to step out of her mother Madonna's shadow and get into show business herself - she's enrolled in a New York drama school. The school, Manhattan’s Professional Children’s School, has some impressive graduates, including Macaulay Culkin, Scarlett Johansson and Sarah Jessica Parker.

"Lourdes is desperate to become an actress and has joined Manhattan’s Professional Children’s School," says a source. "She is determined to prove herself and plans to throw herself into studying the technique."

Lourdes was approached last year to appear in The Secret Life Of Bees, but turned down the part because her mother didn’t want her getting into the business so young.

I wish her luck

Not to be mean, but I was going to say the same thing, although I give her kudos for being herself. ;)

I love her unibrow. She's a pretty girl and I'm glad to see a child still being a child and not giving in too soon into Hollywood beauty business.

Oh please, lol, waxing a unibrow doesnt mean shes sinking into a hollywood childhood.. for cripes sake.

I was 11 when I started plucking mine, and Im glad my mother let me. It looked horrible, even with my hair being way lighter then hers. Nothing wrong with her doing a little self maintence. It rates up there with leg shaving.

I hate to say a kid looks bad but for crying out loud wax her unibrow Madonna!Does she want her kid picked on for the rest of her life for having a unibrow and being constantly photographed with one?

I have no problem with her eyebrows. She's beautiful exactly the way she is.

Come on, she's gorgeous. She'll pluck when she's old enough.

I think it's refreshing that Madonna, of all people, has a daughter who is allowed to be a child. I had a serious unibrow (after years of plucking and waxing it stopped growing back) but at the age of 12 I was totally oblivious to it. Lourdes is a very pretty girl who is going to be a knockout in a couple of years. How about allowing her to enjoy the rest of her childhood without the nasty comments?
