Sam Mendes & Kids Take A Morning Stroll

Stage and film director Sam Mendes and his son, Joe, who just turned 5, and 8-year-old stepdaughter Mia were out for a morning walk in New York City on Tuesday.

Mom is 33-year-old actress Kate Winslet. Kate recently revealed the best advice she gives to her two children: “‘Be yourself—that’s all you need to be. Why do you want to be like that person? Be you. Be you.’”

Wow, Joe looks pretty tall for a 5 year old. Either that, Mia is short for a 8 year old..

Dea, that’s exactly what I thought, along with ‘Sam Mendes looks really old here’.

I do not think they are taking a morning stroll it looks as if they are going to school. They are both beautiful children.

They are walking uphill it seems, it is an illusion that he is that tall.
    Look a bit closer.

He is big for his age I must admit, must be going to take after uncle Joss. Beautiful kids that Kate Winslet makes! Hope she has a few more.

  6. Kate Winslet’s kids are so cute!!! And I’ve gotta say, I absolutely adore their names! I plan on naming my son Joe, and giving my daughter Mia as a middle name, not because Kate called her kids that, I just happen to really love the names. Haha, I also thought that Joe looks pretty big for five, but it could be either the camera angle or the fact that the two children have different fathers so each have different genes from different families being brought in… if you get what I mean. Anyway, they seem like a very happy and down-to-earth family, and it’s really lovely that Mia’s daddy Jim is involved too and that he and Kate are still close.
