M.I.A. & Fiance Welcome A Son
| Feb 15, 2009 by NICOLE |

M.I.A. and fiancé Ben Brewer welcomed their first child on February 11th. No name has been released, but on her MySpace page, the excited new mom wrote,
“Sunday night I came home from the Grammys still in the mood to party. I coulda easily gone out but I went home instead, lucky I did! My early stage labor kicked in around 2 a.m. My baby was born Wednesday. He is healthy, fine, beautiful and the most amazing thing ever on this planet — of course I’m his mum!! Me and baby are putting our tour dates for 2010 together, making mix tapes and figuring out a way to break out of the hospital! My baby boy says hi!”
M.I.A. and Ben, the lead singer and guitarist of The Exit, just performed at the Grammy Awards - on her due date!

Good god, is that shower curtain she is wearing? on topic: congrats to the new parents.
Congratulations! And I love M.I.A.'s styling choices! Not for everyone, certainly not for everyday, but on the Grammy's red carpet she was a looker.
Performing at the Grammy's on your due date is ridiculous. People don't take pregnancy seriously enough. You're bringing a life into this world. You need to take care of yourself and the baby up until the end...jumping around a stage 9 months pregnant is dangerous....your center of gravity is off and taking a risk of falling and injuring the baby is not worth it. Very stupid move....and the Grammy organizers were fools to allow her to perform and take that risk.
