Halle Berry talks babies in the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
Halle, who is mom to 1-year-old daughter Nahla, recalls her pregnancy as a “fantastic” time in her life.
“My pregnancy was amazing. I was happy that whole time,” the 42-year-old mom says. “I felt good, I had energy. I was like Superwoman. I wish I could feel like that for the rest of my life, that’s how fantastic it was.”
However, she admits that she felt a little less fantastic once the baby actually arrived!
“Having a baby takes so much from you. It’s the most glorious thing you’ll ever do, but the aftermath is not so glorious!” Halle shares. “I’m having to exercise, eat a little bit differently, take a lot more vitamins.”
Unlike some celebrities, she’s quick to admit that it takes a lot of effort to stay in shape: “God bless them if they’re telling the truth,” she says of those in Hollywood who claim they don’t work at their flawless figures. “It’s questionable if they are. I always had to diet. I’m diabetic, so it’s a lifestyle for me anyway just to stay healthy and not end up in the hospital.”
Another thing that helps Halle feel young and healthy is her boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry: “I have a 33-year-old man. That’ll keep your mojo mojo-in’.”
But Halle – who has been divorced twice – insists that there are no wedding bells in their future.
“No. I’m done,” she says of marriage. “Also, I happened to find a person who feels done too, and he’s never even been married before. So it works.”
