Amanda Peet & Frankie Are Coldwater Cuties

Amanda Peet was seen spending a fun day at Coldwater Canyon Park playing with her adorable 2-year-old daughter Frances 'Frankie' Pen Benioff in Beverly Hills, CA on the Easter long weekend.

The 37-year-old Something's Gotta Give star strongly encourages parents to immunize their children: "My concern is for our children and their futures. In the fifties, vaccines were recognized as life-saving. My mom had polio and was quarantined when she was 6 years old. It's so hard to appreciate vaccines now that so few children are dying from preventable diseases today, but that could all change if we're not vigilant. There are currently multiple measles outbreaks in the United States. Hopefully children do not have to die before people start to realize the cost of withholding vaccines."

It's always a dubious proposition to listen to celebrities with respect to much of anything, but I really hope people listen to her when it comes to vaccines instead of that nut Jenny McCarthy.

I agree she is beautiful

It's true, I hope people listen to her instead of Jenny McCarthy. Vaccines are very important to safeguard our children, and they have NOTHING to do with autism. it's been proved again and again.

okay, but that does NOT make jenny mccarthy a nut! she's just a mother trying to figure out her son's condition.

She went so far beyond just trying to figure out her son's condition that it isn't even funny. Children are dying because of Jenny McCarthy.

I have noticed, however, that since it was proven that the scientist who provided most of the research Jenny McCarthy used fudged all of his research, she has shut up. I'm thankful for that at least.

Actually, Lucia, your facts are wrong. The reporter that has been out on a witch hunt in regards to this doctor is in trouble for lying about all the accusations he made over the years in regards to Dr. Wakefield.

Excerpt from an article:

"The position of John Witherow, chief editor of the British newspaper The Sunday Times London, may be in jeopardy following an escalating debate over a story about anti-vaccine campaigner Dr. Andrew Wakefield. Freelance journalist Brian Deer’s shown-to-be-false story alleged that Wakefield “fixed” data in a Lancet medical journal paper to show a link between the MMR vaccine, autism and serious bowel disorders in children.
For the allegation in Deer’s story to be true meant that for 10 years, a single-handed action by Wakefield had to have gone completely unnoticed by the other 12 authors on the well-known paper. While 10 of the authors have partially retracted the suggested interpretation in the paper of a possible link between the MMR vaccine and autism, the bulk of the Lancet paper still stands and has been replicated in other scientific studies.

The Times also did not mention as part of the story that an investigation into Wakefield was triggered by a complaint from Brian Deer himself, meaning that his article was a report on the hearing into his own complaint."

It has now come out that Brian Deer’s allegations were totally false and amounted to nothing more than a smear campaign. But it’s not just a simple case of a reporter with mistaken facts, because Brian Deer was the one who originally furnished allegations against Dr. Wakefield in the first place.

In other words, the GMC’s investigation was triggered by a complaint made by Deer, so he was essentially reporting on a disciplinary hearing that he himself instigated.

Ironically, the article came out just days before the U.S. “vaccine court” ruled that the MMR vaccine does not cause autism, and Deer is now being challenged to explain his potential role in all of this.

On top of that, MMR vaccine manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline has just appointed James Murdoch, the head of News International and boss of The Sunday Times (the paper that published Deer’s story) to its board!

The conflict of interest appears so blatant that some have now dubbed The Sunday Times “The Sunday Glaxo”!

I am constantly astonished at pro-vax people and their lack of research and commitment to keep on top of current events surrounding vaccines. They only listen for the information that supports their theory and tune out the rest.

I think Jenny has done an amazing job at advocating that parents be their own advocates! Even if you don't agree with her particular stance, you can't condemn her for not being a zombie to the doctors and scientist and following her God-given mother's instinct. God gave us brains...use them!

Do you really think that Deer was the only one looking at FACTS?

The facts are, the children in the study were not chosen at random. He specifically picked them, in an attempt to show that vaccines cause autism so that once he did, he could sell a different vaccination that he had created that was "safe".

I have no problem with her not vaccinating her kids. I have a problem with her telling others to follow her lead.

It's totally disgusting the way someone here has smeared Brian Deer, who is one of the UK's most outstanding medical journalists. It's so typical of how antivaccine loons behave that they would fabricate anonymous allegations and then circulate them in this way. The reason why the MMR issue is next to dead in England is because of the tremendous work that Deer has does and the great respect in which he is held by both journalists and the public.
