7 Months Pregnant Kelis Files For Divorce

Singer Kelis has filed for divorce from her husband Nas.

The sad news comes as the couple awaits the birth of their first child together – their baby boy is due in July.

Kelis’ rep confirmed the report, saying, "I can confirm that she has filed for divorce. We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."

Nas, who also has a daughter named Destiny from a previous relationship, seemed excited about becoming a dad for the second time when he confirmed the baby news earlier this year, telling MTV, “Yeah, man, I find out what it’s going to be this week, so I’m happy. I got another one coming in 09, yeah!"

The couple, who met at a party thrown by Sean Combs in 2002, recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary.

aw that's sad! but it's good to get out of a bad relationship before the baby is born. that's what i did, and it was probably the smartest thing i've done.

Whenever this picture was taken, you get the feeling from it that he had already distanced himself.

Aww, that is really unfortunate. I wish them both the best, especially for the baby's sake.
