Lance Armstrong says that his breakup with fiancee Sheryl Crow was over babies: She wanted them, he didn’t.
Lance, 37, and Sheryl, 47, were together for just over two years before parting ways in 2006. Sheryl later called the break-up “devastating,” telling Vanity Fair, “I do think about Lance every day. And I think about his kids every day."
In his new book, Lance writes, "She wanted marriage, she wanted children; and not that I didn't want that, but I didn't want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I'd just had kids [Luke, 9, and twins Grace and Bella, 7]. Yet we're up against her biological clock - that pressure is what cracked it."
He reveals that even couples’ counseling couldn’t help them to overcome the problem.
"If somebody wants a child - man, that's the greatest gift you can give to a woman - ... who are you to stand there and say I don't want one? So we were at different points in our lives. We were not compatible on that issue."
Sheryl went on to adopt her son Wyatt the following year. Lance is also to be a dad again – his girlfriend Anna Hansen is expecting a baby next month.

This is so sad, they split bc he didnt want anymore children, they obviously cared for one another a great deal to go to counseling to make it work. Then after she has moved on and adopted he goes and knocks up his current GF.
What a slap in the face for Sheryl. I hope her baby boy brings her a great deal of love.

Actually it is best that no one have children if they don't want to or until they want to, even for someone else. Doesn't matter if the person wanting a child is male or female. That just makes the relationship based on entrapment. I of course don't know for certain, but my guess is that he didn't plan the baby with the girlfriend, but she probably did.

He didn't want any more children and Cheryl did want a child. They break up and he gets a girlfriend and they not only have 1 child but 2. Wow!!! Glad he didn't want any more kids. Good for Cheryl. She now has a beautiful son and he will always know that he was wanted. Will his 2 children have to wonder. And what about his 3 children with his former wife. Wonder if they were wanted. It is sad when a couple splits because one wanted kids and one didn't then he/she goes and has kids with another person. Cheryl was very lucky that he left. Godd luck Cheyl.
