Taye Diggs Can’t Wait To Be A Daddy!

Taye Diggs and wife Idina Menzel, who are eagerly awaiting the birth of their son next month, are all ready for the big day – the only thing they haven’t settled on is a name.

During a recent interview with PEOPLE the 38-year-old Private Practice star discussed how busy Idina has been, preparing for the baby: “We have a spot in New York and one [in Los Angeles]. [Idina] has both nurseries done. She did them herself, painted them, and today she's putting together a bassinet. We've picked out our doula. My wife is so on it!”

Idina, who is due September 6, and Taye have decided to hold off on choosing a name until they meet their son: “We have a couple [names] in the running," says Taye. "But part of us wants to see what he hits us with when we see him. We'll see what he looks like."

Taye also tells PEOPLE that after discussing parenthood with so many of his friends, he’s can’t wait to become a parent himself: “Everyone keeps telling me how amazing it's going to be. Once the birth happens, everything is going to change on every level. I'm very excited."

The couple, who announced the pregnancy in March, celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in January.
