Eddie Cibrian: “I’m Committed To Being A Devoted Father”

It’s been a busy week for actor Eddie Cibrian. Days after he and country crooner LeAnn Rimes went public with their long-rumored romance – the pair were spotted on a golf date last Friday and then took in the Kings of Leon concert together over the weekend – he filed for divorce on Monday from his wife Brandi Glanville.

News of the divorce comes just a month after Brandi confirmed she and Eddie were “taking some time apart,” telling US magazine at the time, “I want to do what is best for our children. Eddie and LeAnn deserve each other.”

Months before their split Brandi, who has kids Mason, 6, and Jake, 2, with Eddie, seemed to publicly acknowledge the affair, going so far as to call LeAnn a stalker and warn, “She’s hurting my family and messing with the wrong mom.”

Now Eddie is speaking out. In response to his ex’s most recent accusations that he’s “a compulsive liar, cheater and a home wrecker” and “an absentee father,” the Third Watch star issued the following statement today:

“While my wife and I are dissolving our marriage, we will work together to parent our two children. I love my boys very much. I want only the best for them and am committed to being a devoted father."

Meanwhile, rumor has it Eddie and LeAnn, who split from her husband of 7 years Dean Sheremet last month, plan to escape the media spotlight by heading to Mexico for a holiday.
