Sharon Lawrence Knows Katherine Heigl Will Be A Great Mom

Sharon Lawrence has nothing but high praise for Grey’s Anatomy costar Katherine Heigl following the news that she will be adopting a baby girl.

“It’s so inspiring,” Sharon tells People at the Governor’s Ball following the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday. “I know she’ll be a great mom.”

Sharon believes that Katherine, 30, has many qualities that will make her a natural when it comes to being a mother: “When I was working [on Grey’s], I watched her multitask, creating the career that she wants and supporting her lovely husband [musician Josh Kelley], who was on set, and her connection with her own mother. Katie is a very modern woman who will pursue her passions and not feel limited by anything, and I think that bodes well for her motherhood."

Sharon adds: “Katie as a mom is the kind of gal that makes me feel good about the future. She is smart and happy and free of constraints of 'Oh, I should do this, I shouldn't do this.' For her, motherhood's [going to be] like knife in butter. She'll [set] a great example for that little girl.”

Katherine recently confirmed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she and hubby Josh Kelley are adopting a 10-month-old baby girl named Naleigh from Korea. Little Naleigh is a special needs baby whose birthday happens to be the day before Katherine’s.

Katherine hasn’t given a date for her new daughter’s arrival but states that she will be coming “real soon”.
