Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves and girlfriend Adriana Henao have confirmed to Indystar.com that they are expecting their first baby – a girl, whose name will be Mikaella.
‘We thought about calling her ‘Indy’, but we thought that might be a little too much,” says the soon-to-be father.
Helio, 34, has had an incredibly emotional year. He was cleared of tax evasion charges in April, won his third Indy 500 in May and is now thrilled with the news of his daughter’s impending arrival – expected in January.
“This year started very difficult, the middle was kind of a ‘Wow!’ and now this. This is a great ending for the book.”
Helio and Adriana have not yet tied the knot but he says that it’s “the next natural step.”
