Former Mets Catcher Mike Piazza Welcomes Baby Girl No. 2

Mike Piazza, 41, is certainly enjoying his early retirement! He and wife Alicia Rickter, 37, have welcomed their second daughter!

“We are blessed to have two healthy girls,” Mike tells PEOPLE. “We are so grateful.”

Paulina Sophia was born August 3 at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, weighing in at 6lbs 3oz and measuring 24 ½ inches. She joins big sister Nicoletta Veronica, 2 ½, at home.

A rep for the baseball star says that mom & baby are healthy and happy.

“Being a father – it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done,” adds Mike.

Congratulations to the Piazza family!
