Despite the red carpet galas and her Oscar-winner title, Reese Witherspoon says she’s not unlike so many other single moms out there.
“It isn’t anything I chose in life, it just sort of happened that way,” Reese told People at Tuesday’s Avon “Champions Who Change Women’s Lives” charity event in New York. “We all just do the best we can. We’re all just people trying to get through life however we can… I’m thrilled to be any sort of inspiration to anyone!”
The 33-year-old Walk the Line star, who has kids Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6, with her ex Ryan Phillippe, is the Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation, which focuses on breast cancer and domestic violence.
Raising her kids in LA, Reese recently admitted that she misses her family and friends back home. It sounds as though she’s managed to capture a bit of her former life in her newly launched Avon perfume, In Bloom.
“I just wanted a scent memory of my childhood in Tennessee growing up,” she says. “A lot of it is white flowers and gardenias and things that I grew up in the backyard loving. Things that I smelled on my mother and my grandmother that really inspired a feeling of being back home.”
