Eight Will Be Great For Rod Stewart

According to PEOPLE, rocker Rod Stewart is trying for baby no. 8!

The 64-year-old singer, who has seven children with five different women – the oldest being born in 1964 and the most recent in November 2005 – is hoping to add one more with his third wife, Penny Lancaster.

“Yes, we’re trying – we actually tried last night!” Rod told GMTV, a British talk show. “One more and then we’re going to close the office.”

Until then, he’s enjoying spending time with his youngest son, Alastair, who will turn four November 27.

“He’s just a sweet kid at the moment,” says the proud dad. “I did take him out n the football field the other day. He put all his Celtic stuff on, I said, ‘Come on, let’s get running out there,’ and he went, ‘Oh, there’s some flowers for mummy – must collect them.’”

“He spent about two hours collecting flowers in a basket for his mum!” added Rod. What a sweetheart!
