Nicole Kidman On Her Happy Home Life

In a new interview with Ladies' Home Journal, actress Nicole Kidman paints a pretty picture of her life in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband Keith Urban and their 1-year-old daughter Sunday Rose: A 36-acre farm, a vegetable garden, mornings spent listening to her musical hubby play the piano, weekly baby play dates at her home.

"I love living here," she tells LHJ. "It's a long way from New York and Los Angeles, but that's part of the attraction. I feel protected here, especially now that I have the baby."

Saying that Keith's career is "much bigger than what I'm doing right now," the 42-year-old Oscar-winner says she's "cool" with her work taking a back seat to family.

With their 3-year wedding anniversary behind them, Nicole reveals that their marriage is still going strong, saying, "Keith and I have a very honest, profound marriage, which we both contribute to every day.... I love being in love. I believe in the power of love, the way it can heal. The more you keep choosing it - because there are times when you can choose to be angry at the person or to love him - the more it nourishes a family."

Nicole credits her mom Janelle with raising her to be "strong-willed," saying, "She wanted us to have a sense of our place in the world. She didn't want us to be shaped by our relationship with boys. She wanted us to focus on our intellect instead."

Her mom's battle with breast cancer also taught her to be vigilant about her own health. Nicole says this became even more important after Sunday's birth.

"My health is not for me, it's for my daughter.... When you have a child later in life, you have to stay strong. I want to be able to run around and do everything with her."

Nicole is also mom to kids Isabella, 17, and Connor, 15, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
