Nicole Richie To Star In ABC Comedy

Nicole Richie To Star In ABC Comedy

It looks like Nicole Richie is heading back to the small screen after all!

The 28-year-old actress announced the big news on her website:

I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project! I am creating a half hour scripted comedy for ABC in which I will be starring in, as well as producing.
The series revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships. She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman’s role is: modern vs. traditional.
Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life. It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman’s role should be in this era. I’ve taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!). We’re still in the very early stages and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!

Earlier this week rumors had spread that she and husband Joel Madden were in discussions to star in a home-based, interview style reality show. The couple quickly dispelled the false reports when Joel tweeted: “We aren’t doing a reality show. We keep work and family seperate.”

Still not interested and also, hasn’t this been done before?

What’s the name of the comedy? “All in the illegitimate family”.

Sorry, but the concept of the show sounds really boring. Yes, this has been done in many, many variations before. And the only shows of that type that were highly successful are the first ones, like “That Girl” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”.
And since when is she an actress? A good comedy relies mostly on the performances and I just don’t see her having any (comedic) acting chops at all.
