Ali Landry: "I’m In The Best Shape Of My Life"

Ali Landry opens up to Life & Style about how she lost her baby weight. The gorgeous Doritos Girl and her husband, producer Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, welcomed their daughter, Estela, on July 11, 2007. After her birth, Ali wasn’t feeling so energetic.

I was nursing, I was tired. I had no desire to go to the gym. For the first two years of her life, Estela was my focus. I didn’t care so much about being in perfect shape.”

Breastfeeding helped Ali drop 25 of her 35 pregnancy pounds. But the 36-year-old Eve actress wasn't feeling in great shape. “I was skinny-fat. I was already back in my regular clothes, but I definitely wasn’t in shape.”

Motivation hit when ABC asked her to participate in The Superstars, the network’s sports challenge. “It really lit a fire under me,” says Ali, who placed fifth with her partner on the show, retired baseball star Jeff Kent. “I thought, I don’t know where that camera’s going to be angled, so I’d better get it together!”

Ali sought the help of Helene Guzman and the trainer’s mom-friendly routines: two one-hour workouts a week. “I do interval training,” Guzman explains to Life & Style. “During the hour, I try to work in 30 to 40 exercises. I keep the heart rate up, so there’s not a lot of downtime.”

By sticking to Guzman’s mix of stretching, cardio and calisthenics - as well as food delivery from Chef’s Diet - Ali lost the last 10 pounds of baby weight. She even shed an additional 5, putting her at a toned 134 pounds after two months. “I’m less than my starting weight!” Ali proudly states. “I’m in the best shape of my life.”
