The Gosselin Eight "Don't Believe In Santa Claus"

In the wake of their parents’ imminent divorce and their reality show cancellation, the Gosselin kids – 9-year-old twins Mady and Cara, and 5-year-old sextuplets, Joel, Leah, Alexis, Hannah, Aeden and Collin – are gearing up for their Christmas celebrations. They are not, however, expecting anyone dressed in red to be shimmying down their chimney.

“They don’t believe in Santa Claus,” a friend of the family tells Us. “Mady and Cara ruined it for the sextuplets and told them a few years ago that Santa wasn’t real, and that their presents come from Mommy and Daddy.”

It looks like the kids are also spreading the bah humbugs to the rest of the community: “The sextuplets are the ones at school who tell the other kids there’s no Santa Claus.”

However, St. Nick or no St. Nick, Kate Gosselin and her brood have been busy decorating for the holiday season - including a 12-foot-tree in their family room.

While Kate and her eight are getting ready for Christmas, her estranged husband, Jon Gosselin, has been busy dodging his court date. PEOPLE reports that today (December 10), Jon was a no-show at a Maryland courtroom where he was due to face TLC over a contract dispute regarding Jon and Kate Plus 8.

The case, which concerns paid and unpaid TV appearances by Jon, contrary to his agreement with the network, went on without him. According to the judge, the Gosselin legal team does not plan to call on any witnesses.
