Tim Robbins & Susan Sarandon Split

Surprising news out of Hollywood today as Susan Sarandon announced that she and her longtime partner Tim Robbins have split.

“Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer. No further comments will be made," reads a statement from Susan's rep.

The couple met while filming the baseball movie Bull Durham. Though they never married, they've been in a committed relationship for over two decades and have sons Jack, 20, and Miles, 17, together. They also raised Susan's daughter from a previous relationship, 25-year-old actress Eva Amurri.

Of their decision not to wed, the Oscar-winning actress once said, "When you are not married, I think it is not as easy to take each other for granted. Because when you say 'till death do us part,' you don't have to reaffirm your love for each other as often."
