The Duggar family is heading to Little Rock for the holidays.
Since Josie Duggar, the 19th child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who was born prematurely on December 10, is still hospitalized in Little Rock, Arkansas, the 18 Kids and Counting family is packing up and heading 200 miles from home to be closer to their newest addition.
“Josie is 2-weeks-old today,” proud dad Jim Bob tells PEOPLE. “We continue to take things day by day – she remains in the NICU where doctors are tracking her progress.” He adds:
Our entire family is planning to relocate to Little Rock temporarily to be close to Josie. In the meantime, we're grateful that a close friend in Little Rock has opened up their home to us for the holidays.
The littlest Duggar, who weighed in at a mere 1lb, 6oz at birth, arrived early due to her mother’s preeclampsia – a condition which causes high blood pressure in pregnant women.
Several of the older Duggar children have recently returned from a mission to El Salvador: “The whole family will be together and close to Josie for Christmas,” says their father. “We’re so thankful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.”
