Same Sky bracelets, a trade-not-aid initiative, is part of the growing trend towards ethical shopping. These fashion-with-a-conscience bracelets are made by women survivors of the Rwandan genocide—and each hand-crocheted, glass-beaded bracelet carries the signature and story of the woman who made it. All profits go to training and employing more women artisans in Rwanda, allowing them to take the first steps out of poverty. The bracelets make use of traditional Rwandan weaving skills, using 165-180 hand-blown glass beads and come in multiple colors.
Celebrity fans of Same Sky Bracelets include Alicia Keys, Halle Berry, Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep to name a few.

It is a shame that they do not have the resources to do so! These women have accomplished something so beautiful and meaningful by creating these bracelets.
