Uncle Rooster McConaughey reports that proud parents Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are “doing fine” after welcoming their daughter Vida on Sunday.
“He called me on Sunday afternoon and said, ‘I made a little baby girl,’” Rooster tells People. “He’s all proud… He’s got it going on now.”
He also weighed in on his newborn niece’s name, saying that booze-inspired names are more his style than they are Matthew’s.
“I think I ruined it for him because I’ve already taken up that territory. I named my [3½-year-old] boy Miller Lyte because that’s my favorite beer. And my [11-month-old] little girl is named Margarita Olympia… I liked that beer, too, even though they don’t even make it anymore.”
In a show of friendly brotherly competition, Rooster says he told Matthew to “quit copying me” when he heard the news that he’s now the dad of a daughter.
“Hell, we’ve got so many McConaughey girls now, we’re all gonna have to learn volleyball and cheerleading,” he jokes.
Matthew and Camila are also parents to 17-month-old son Levi.
I can’t believe this guy is BRAGGING because he named his kids after his favorite booze. Nice.
