Tried, Tested & True: Stokke’s Tripp Trapp Highchair

I'm not one for plastic highchairs. Not only are they bad for the environment but the cleaning aspect is a real pain. All those crevices are horrible for removing small particles of food and pasta sauce tends to stain the surfaces.

You know what I do love? Products that are environmentally friendly and give you a bang for your buck, allowing you to use them way past the infant and toddler stage.

The award-winning Tripp Trapp Highchair from Stokke, was sent to me for review and after weeks of testing, we couldn't be more pleased with its performance! Assembly was easy and took about 1 hour in total, thanks to the clear instructions and minimal parts.

Once assembled this beautiful beech wood high chair, is about the same size as a dining room chair and provides the correct ergonomic support for your chid. They can sit next to you at the table just like everyone else and squirmy tots are kept secure with the 5 point harness.

Available in a wide array of modern colours (11 in total), the Tripp Trapp can easily be matched to your current dining room decor. Adjustability is easy and the height and depth can be adjusted to optimally seat a child from 6 months of age right up into teenage years!

The only con is the lack of tray as things can get quite messy with little ones! Stokke’s Table Top ($89) is a wonderful solution to this problem. The top attaches firmly on your dining room table with suction cups and comes with six different learning templates that can be inserted into the tray. Not only does this keep the food in one place but it allows your child to learn and play while waiting for dinner. Both my 12-month-old and 3-year-old enjoyed the templates immensely!

For infants who need a little more support, the Tripp Trapp Baby Set ($69) is a great option. This unit consists of a seating rail and baby back plate. It is designed specifically to easily attach onto the highchair. Made from environmentally-friendly and recyclable plastic materials, the Baby Set is easy to clean and reduces the risk of your baby climbing out of the chair thanks to the seating rail.

Stokke is a favourite among many celebrity parents and just a couple who opted for the Tripp Trapp include, Naomi Watts who was photographed purchased one for her boys and renowned chef Jamie Oliver. Jamie chose this quality high chair to accommodate the younger guests of his new restaurant in Oxford, England.
