Nicole Richie: "I Feel Extremely Blessed To Live The Life That I’m Living”

Newly brunette mother-of-two Nicole Richie covers the March issue of British Marie Claire. The most transformed mother of 2008 opens up about the eating disorder rumors, the age gap between her children and how her life “has changed in a much more natural way” than most people think.

Addressing the anorexia rumors, Nicole, 28, sets the record straight.

I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don't. It's extremely insulting and irresponsible. An eating disorder is serious and it's a disease. I don't think you can lightly say someone has a disease unless they are openly telling you that they do."

Nicole started looking frighteningly thin towards the end of 2004 while filming The Simple Life with her BFF Paris Hilton. In 2006 she underwent medical treatment at her father's urging to stop her frame from shrinking any further.

Now looking healthier but slim for a new mom (she gave birth to son Sparrow in September), Nicole doesn't feel like revisiting that time.

"I'm just one to live in the present and enjoy the time that I'm having," she said. "Going into my past is just not something that I do. Right now I'm just living my dreams."

Nicole addressed Sparrow’s unusual name and said that they wanted to give their son “a name to stand up for." The fashion and jewelry designer attributes her slim postpartum figure to her baby boy. “I’m nursing and he’s a big boy."

Her life has changed dramatically over the past few years, but the proud mom-of-two says she’s content to leave the past in the past.

“I’ve just accepted responsibility for what I’ve done, and I don’t really try and look at why I did it. I just feel that I have gotten past it and moved on … And I feel extremely blessed to live the life that I’m living.”

Nicole is proud mom to daughter Harlow, 2, and son Sparrow, 4 ½ months. She says life with partner Joel Madden is “really great,” and goes on to say she's glad her children are close in age.

“I’m 13 years older than my brother and I have a younger sister who is 12, so I think it’s really great they’re going to have each other.”
