Kimberly Elise & Daughter Butterfly In Beverly Hills

Kimberly Elise & Daughter Butterfly In Beverly Hills

Gorgeous pair! Two-time NAACP Image Award-winning actress, Kimberly Elise, and her daughter Butterfly were photographed at the 41st NAACP Image Awards held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday (February 13).

Kimberly and her ex-husband Maurice Oldham are also parents to Ajableu Oldham.

Following the lead of many celeb parents, Kimberly chose an interesting name for her daughter. I don’t think we’ve seen a Butterfly in the celeb offspring pool yet?!

Thoughts on Butterfly? Better than Zuma? No worse than Pilot Inspektor?

This poor kid…I can just hear her friends when she gets to high school…”Hey butter!” or “you’re so FLY”…the jokes will be endless. But nothing could be worse than being named after a fruit! Apple?! Sheesh! Isn’t it enough that these kids are living in the spotlight AND shadows of their parents’ celebrity?!

She’s going to be teased badly especially during recess when the other children call her “Butt”!!

Butterfly- Peanut- Little Pixie- Rainbow Joan of Arc- Princess Tiaamii and the list goes on! I like uncommon names too, but these children grow into adults one day. Why not give them a name they can live with?

actually during an interview, Kimberly told a source that Butterfly named her self. she had a normal original name, but then told her mother that she wanted to be called butterfly :)

No worse than Ihkyd, Zuma, or Pilot Inspektor. But by itself I think Pilot is a cute name lol.

    She named herself Butterfly actually.

What so she was just nameless for a few years? Or what was her birth name?

  5. Daisy

I think her name was Talia, and her nickname is butterfly.

A Butterfly signifies beauty in my book and it fits her. She is gorgeous and looks a lot like her beautiful mom :)
