Jessica Alba: Having A Kid Puts Everything In Perspective

Jessica Alba has had to face her fair share of bad press/rumors, but since the birth of daughter Honor Marie, 20 months, the Valentine's Day actress has a new outlook on life. In an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Alba credits her daughter for giving her a newfound sense of confidence, saying, "When people wrote lies about me before I had Honor, I’d get upset or I’d get nauseous or I’d get angry or I’d want revenge. Now, it’s like, it’s just so ridiculous and it’s not even close to being the truth.”

Facing the normal insecurities most other women experience, Alba also seems to be comfortable in her own skin, declaring, “I used to harp on about my insufficiencies but after I had Honor I forgave myself for not being perfect. I stopped trying to be a crowd pleaser and accepted my flaws and then, in turn, you accept everyone else’s. Having a kid puts everything in perspective.”

The actress, who has been married to husband Cash Warren since 2008, also admits, “I know who I am, and I know that I love my family and I love my kid and that being a good mom is my #1 priority.”

The busy mom puts family first, but has a thriving acting career with a string of new films being released including, Meet the Fockers Sequel, Machete, and An Invisible Sign of My Own.
