You can say one thing about that Jolie/Pitt family. They can not sit still. They are modern day nomads, gallivanting across the globe. This week Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and all their kids temporarily left their rented Venetian Palace for a visit to always glamorous Paris. But that’s nothing. These two along with their kids have been around the world and back again. So where do these jetsetters rest, relax and sleep while they are here, there and everywhere? Check out their homes, hotels, chateaus and palaces here.
While mom Angelina films her newest project The Tourist in Venice, Italy, the Jolie-Pitt brood stays in old-school Venetian luxury. They have rented the historic Palazzo Mocenigo on the Grand Canal. The 16th century palace has five bedrooms and three bathrooms as well as a ‘Mezzanino’ Apartment and a “cottage.” Plenty of room for the large family and their staff. You can check out more pics of the impressive property here.
Their business- the business of movies- is very much based in Los Angeles, so it’s no surprise that the family spends a pair share of their time there. When in So Cal, the Bradgelina clan stays at their large estate in Los Feliz. The main house is a traditional Craftsman’s house that Brad bought in 1994 from Elvira, the ‘Mistress of the Dark’ for a reported $1.7M. They’ve been working on making the property more “child friendly” and Brad bought two properties next to the home to increase their play room and their privacy. The newest addition was just finalized recently.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Brad has been very vocal in his love for New Orleans. Their 1830s brick mansion is in the historic French Quarter and Brad bought it back in January 2007 for $3.5 Million. The home is over 7,000 square feet and features six-bedrooms as well as (from the property listing) a library with custom display shelves, five fireplaces, a built-in wide and flat screen TV, ornate wood columns in the formal dining and living rooms, gauzy silk drapes framing the two floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, a three-story guest house, and a gourmet kitchen with a Viking stove, a Viking wine cellar, a SubZero refrigerator, a cappuccino machine, and a large butcher’s block island with an undermount porcelain basin.
In star studded Malibu, Brad owns a three-bedroom, four-thousand square-foot home on the Pacific Coast Highway. He bought the home in 2005 for about $8 million. Brad picked it up shortly after his divorce from Jennifer Aniston and reportedly only lived in it for a short time. They reportedly tried to offload the not very kid friendly cliffside home last year for about $18 million but haven’t had any luck.
Brignol in the South of France:
Angelina has close ties to France. It was her dear and departed mom’s native land. Brad and Angie’s sprawling and historic estate there is called Chateau Miraval and it’s located in a village called Brignol, near from Aix-en-Provence. It was reported that they picked up the swanky pad for $60 million dollars. So what does $60 mill buy you? The house reportedly features: outdoor swimming pool, indoor swimming pool, billiards room, his and hers gyms, sauna, Jacuzzi, large banquet hall, 20 fountains, aqueducts, and streams, 1,000 acres of land, a lake, 35 bedrooms and…a moat!
New York City, New York
When in the Big Apple, the family has stayed at the Waldorf – Astoria Hotel in Midtown. And they don’t just get any room. The family rents out the Royal Suite, “The Royal Suite was created for Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, it is decorated with antiques and period furniture to honor the British Monarch and her husband. It features sweeping views of Manhattan, a 39′ by 24′ living room, and a 24′ by 36′ dinning room overlooking Park Ave and St Patrick’s Cathedral. It has opulent details such as gold-embellished woodwork, layers of champagne-colored Italian silks, antique mahogany moldings and carefully selected artwork and accessories reinforce the sense of a well-traveled, sophisticated and international elegance.” Yeah, but it doesn’t sound very kid friendly!
Long Island, New York:
While recently filming Salt, Angelina and Brad rented out a $60 million property on the North Shore of Long Island. The 48-acre waterfront estate is named Sassafras, it boasts a “22,000 square foot Tudor-style main house with eight bedrooms, two helipads (the kids love helicopters), a private dock, a six bedroom guest house and an 11-bedroom staff house.
The family took over a whole floor at the elite hotel The Dorchester this time, last year. But things did not go well. Their four older kids ‘ran amok’ during their stay.
A guest told the British newspaper The Sun, “They were running up and down the hallway for over an hour. Their nanny tried to quieten them down and move them out the way when people came through. But she had her hands full with the four of them.”
They’ve also stayed at:
Windhoek, Namibia – While anticipating the birth of Shiloh, the family stayed at the Burning Shores resort, a luxury boutique hotel on the beach. They rented out all 14 rooms to make sure they had a total lock-down and privacy.
Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, France – The couple has also crashed at an epically gorgeous and tranquil estate in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. The sprawling property named Villa Maryland is owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. They reportedly have stayed there twice.
Pune, India – While filming A Mightly Heart, the family stayed at the five star Hotel Le Meridien.
Berlin, Germany – Brad and Angie had some alone time at The Q! Hotel designed by Graft (who is known for their work on Brad Pitt’s Hollywood Hills studio),
Elciego , Spain – Architecture loving Brad of course had to spend the night at the Marques de Riscal designed by design icon Frank O. Gehry. The kids were far, far away in Prague.
Costa Rica – When spending time in the tropics of Costa Rica they stayed at the Four Seasons Resort in Papagayo.View Slideshow »»
