In a statement to People, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart have announced the name of their newborn daughter: Billie Beatrice.
The Grey’s Anatomy star, 37, and Gayheart, 38, welcomed their first bundle of joy on March 3.
McSteamy had previously stated that his wife wanted to “wait to see [the baby]” before picking a name. “You want to make sure that the name sticks.”

I don’t care for it. All I thing of is Billie Goat Dane. I’m sure she’s a darling little girl though. Nothing against the little one, just not my choice of names, so don’t beat me up too much.

I think Billie Beatrice is just gorgeous, but Scarlett is right, Billie Dane is awfully similar to Billy Zane. But regardless, I think it’s a very sweet name, and as far as nicknames go they could always call her Bebe/BB

I expected something way too weird from that front so seeing the name surprised me a bit. For the positive. Not a big fan of those names together but held separately it’s really cute!
Eric’s co-actress Ellen Pompeo told a magazine that her own daughter Stella Luna and Eric and Rebecca’s little one would be pretty close in age and she expected them to be play pals once they grew a little. Billie and Stella. Aww. That’s just too cute:)
a really adorable nickname is Billie Bea! Come on, its cute! I really like Billie. Its not too out-there and not too girly like Poppy or Petal or something. it’s really classy yet spunky. congrats. there’s not a doubt in my mind that she’s absolutely stunning like her papa!!!!
I love the name Billie Beatrice… I think a great nickname for her would b Billie Bea lol, its so sweet n girly for a little girl…. Bet she’s soooooooooooo cute too ( if she takes after her parents anyway )
Sounds like 2 grandma’s maybe they named her after. Maybe they were close and now deceased… like Violet Affleck. It took me awhile to like Violet.. so Billie will probably grow on me too.
