How Did These 15 Celebrity Moms Get Back in Shape?

After having a baby, one of the last things that you probably want to do is work out. Having a newborn is physically draining enough! Most moms can’t commit that much time to regaining their pre-baby shape, if they ever do. But celebrity moms, they don’t have a choice. Their bodies are a big part of their commodity and supermodels like Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum make millions from their shapes, so there is a very big incentive for them to lose that weight, and lose it fast. And to lose the pounds, these babes got to working out right after giving birth (as well as adhering to a diet regime). What kind of exercise did these celebrity moms do?

Gisele Bundchen
During the later part of her pregnancy she kept fit doing kung fu and yoga. After her son Benjamin was born she just did “yoga on a mat in her living room.” But now she’s getting a bit more of a work out. She was recently spotted leaving a dance workout class in Los Angeles and working up a good sweat in the process.

Heidi Klum
To get her in shape for the Victoria Secrets show that she hosted soon after giving birth to her fourth child, Heidi relied on the help of a trainer. She said that her trainer was, “helping me so I don't overdo it. I've been walking on the treadmill. Walking up and down the driveway. She has a medicine ball so she showed me things on there. You can't do too much too early."

Jessica Alba
Jessica worked with the acclaimed Hollywood trainer Ramona Braganza using her 321 Baby Bulge Be Gone Plan. This plan included elliptical and treadmill work, which Jessica did at home. She soon was able to also add in her core exercises, cardio and circuit training.

Halle Berry
Halle also opted to use Ramona Braganza’s 321 Baby Bulge Be Gone Plan as well as the treadmill, Halle did one hour workouts that include three segments of cardio, two segments of weights, and one segment of core work.

Jennifer Lopez
JLO reportedly spent a whole $50,000 on a home gym to get her back in shape after having her twins. She hired a personal trainer and Jennifer woke up at 4am to work out for three hours, seven days a week. Now that’s some commitment right there!

Marsha Cross
The Desperate Housewives star exercised with others after the birth of her twins. She signed up for intense workout classes at LA’s Burn 60 Gym.

Melanie Brown
Melanie Brown aka Scary Spice not only did her regular fitness routine but she had a very intense and very public workout. She appeared on Dancing With The Stars!

Denise Richards
Another early riser, this mom of two would wake up at 5am every morning to work out with her personal trainer by doing lots of cardio.

Melissa Joan Hart
With a less intense fitness regime, Melissa Joan Hart would do thirty minutes of spinning and thirty minutes of floor exercises with the help of a trainer.

Reese Witherspoon
Along with partaking in the practice of yoga, this mom of two also took oodles of long walks and did a lot of outdoor exercises.

Angelina Jolie
Angelina also relied on the practice of yoga. After the birth of Shiloh she did lots of it to get back in shape.

Uma Thurman
Uma lost her weight quickly by doing intense training for her roll in the film Kill Bill. She got fit doing sword fighting and martial arts.

Christina Aguilera
The songstress had to wait a month to start working out. But once it was okay with her doctor she did 90 minute workouts with her personal trainer five days a week. Her workouts included 40 minutes of treadmill or elliptical plus 40 minutes of toning and body sculpting exercises, which would vary every workout.

Gabrielle Reece
Already very athletic, Gabrielle did a mixture of Pilates, swimming, and circuit training to get back into shape.

Kate Hudson
After her son Ryder was born, Kate worked out two to three hours a day, six days a week to get her back to her thin and trim prebaby shape.

What kind of exercise did you do after your baby was born?

I can bet my life on it that if we were all paid millions to be skinny with perfect boobs, abs and bottoms, we'd snap right back into the shape we were before getting pregnant. It's their jobs to look the way they look. And they're paid REALLY WELL for it as well. And we don't all know the real reasons why it seems like only 5% of models and actresses have stretch marks AT ALL... But once again, tell me I'll be making $1 million in 2010 and I'll work out every single day non-stop.

This is great for them, but we have to remember they had the resources to hire these trainers or pay for the gyms. And they had someone watching those babies while they did. For most women, these regimes just aren't feasible. Going for a walk with your baby around the neighborhood is a great way to start!

It seems like most of them spent thousands of dollars and got personal trainers, neither of which non-celebs can easily do.
I think Gisele has the best solution- a healthy lifestyle. She has always been very active doing yoga, kung-Fu, dancing, boxing, hiking, bicylcing, etc. Also, she eats healthy but doesn't count calories.
She, of course, has lucky genes as well. But my point is that when you go to extremes it is difficult to maintain the weight unless you can afford trainers. The best way to stay in shape is to live healthy. When pregnant, don't eat everything in front of you just because you're eating for two and don't sit home all day. If you don't gain unecessary weight and you breastfeed, your body will go back to normal. Pregnancy is not suppose to be a punishment, you just have to take good care of yourself.

Do these celebrity moms breastfeed? You can't diet and breastfeed.

These celebrity moms should try a fabulous "mom" product I just discovered called Love Handles. It turns most baby strollers into an elliptical trainer so you get a total body workout - amazing! We love it in my house! You can find more info and where to buy on their site: www.lovehandlesinc.com.

I think a lot of these wormen have good genetics as well. You can see from most of their pre-baby bodies that they already were geneticaly blessed. Also, you CAN eat healthy and exercise while breast feeding. Eating healthy and exercising goes a long way in keeping up with your body.

Have you read about Jennifer Hudson being the spokesperson for Weight Watchers? She's lost sooo much weight, I can't believe it. I read here - http://www.diets24h.com - about her diet and I gotta try it!
