Whether on a playdate with his always adorable kids Harlow, 2, and Sparrow, 6 months, sharing pics of them on Twitter or gushing about his fashionable fiance Nicole Richie, family life seems to be a perfect fit for Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden.
Indeed, with a new album on the way and a happy home life, the 31-year-old dad-of-two tells the LA Times that he’s the best he’s ever been.
“I have two kids that are my life – they’re my entire world,” Joel says. “I have an awesome partner who is really supportive. She makes me the best version of myself that I’ve ever been.”
Joel, who recently announced his engagement to his girlfriend of 3 years Nicole, says he has absolutely no regrets about settling down.
“I think you can decide to be the best dad and partner you can be, or you can run from it. It’s a heavy thing when your life changes. But my kids make me feel good about myself; I’m not really worried about succeeding or failing.”
It seems the kids have an influence on his music, as well: “My daughter, she says yea or nay when I record a demo. She gives me the honest reaction,” Joel reveals of little Harlow’s input.
Good Charlotte’s new album is due out this Spring, marking the 10th anniversary of the band’s first major release The Young and the Hopeless.
