After nearly nine years Melissa Etheridge and partner Tammy have decided to end their relationship.
“Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated,” a rep for the musician tells US Weekly.
In their own statement, the former couple add:
We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period.
In 2006, Tammy, 35, gave birth to the couple’s two children - son Miller and daughter Johnnie Rose, now 3 ½ - after Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004.
Melissa, 48, is also mom to 13-year-old Bailey and 11-year-old Beckett with ex-partner Julie Cypher.

That's so weird because 2 or 3 days ago I thought about them and how they are still together and not separating, for some reason.
How sad for that to happen to their family. I thought they'd be, you know, forever. But still, I'm sure they're dedicated to raising their children stably and lovingly.
