Ryan Phillippe: "My Aim Is Always To Progress"

Actor Ryan Phillippe bares his soul – and his abs – in May 2010 issue of Men’s Health magazine. The 35-year-old MacGruber star, who has kids Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6, with his ex Reese Witherspoon, opens up about past regrets, future goals and how his children inspire him.

On his 2006 divorce from Reese Withersoon: “I still have sadness and complicated feelings about my divorce…. How beneficial is it to keep hanging onto those feelings? If someone lives through an accident, his aim is to become better and healthy.”

On being inspired to stay fit: “I like feeling strong…I want to throw my kids up in the air and wrestle them. Working out has become about functionality.”

On cooking for the kids: “There’s something about the kids knowing the parent is making the food for them with love. My kids think I’m an amazing cook, and that’s all that matters.”

On getting older: “I thought the most experience you had, the more certain you would be about life. But I’m finding the opposite, man. I’m more in wonder and confusion than I was in my 20s.”

On his future goals: “My aim is always to progress – to make better decisions and be a better father, a better boyfriend, a better husband if it happens again.”
