Emerson Drive's Brad Mates Welcomes Son: Tyler Robert!

Congratulations to Emerson Drive's lead vocalist Brad Mates and his wife Jana who welcomed their son, Tyler Robert Mates, at 7:04 PM on Wednesday night (April 28). The couple's first child weighing in at 7 lbs. 13 oz, The Boot reports.

The Canadian singer announced their pregnancy in March, saying that “[becoming a dad] is a little surreal right now:”

I still don't believe that we're going to be parents soon. I walk around the house now and see all these new toys, clothes, bottles, diapers, nursery, and it's like... where is the baby??? So until we bring him home, I can only wonder how it's all going to feel. Jana & I are so excited for the baggy eyes and sleepless nights ahead.....ohhhh no!!!"

The band's fiddle player, David Pichette, and his wife Jill (who happens to be Jana's twin sister) welcomed their first child, daughter Emma, on November 21, 2008.
